These workshops are intended as an introduction to working with one’s own mind.  They will introduce practices that lead, among other benefits, to better management of difficult situations, improved relationships, more control of one’s life, and more mental strength.

Conquest of Anger

When anger is on the throne, reason takes to its heels. We lose our memory, our understanding becomes clouded and the intellect gets perverted. If we can eradicate anger, all bad qualities will die by themselves. — Swami Sivananda

We will trace the origins, nature and causes of anger, examining antidotes and practical methods for its control and eradication.

Cool Head, Balanced Mind

He who has a balanced mind is really a strong and happy man. Keep the mind cool always. Balance is strength.— Swami Sivananda

Contentment, non-attachment, simplicity, patience all lead to a mind that is peaceful and without agitation and craving. We will look at practical ways to quieten our ever-restless minds.

How to Develop Will-Power

Will is the king of mental powers. Unruffled state of mind, cheerfulness, poise, inner strength, sparkling eyes, powerful voice…..are some of the signs or symptoms of a strong will. — Swami Sivananda

How many of us lead lives that are unfulfilled and lacking in drive and purpose? This workshop will look at practical and down-to-earth ways of creating a life that is both meaningful and rewarding.

‘Homework’ will be given.  Please wear comfortable clothes. Chairs are provided. If you wish to sit on the floor please bring your own mat and cushion.  Please bring pen and paper.
